The Ability Experience

The Ability Experience is the official philanthropy of Pi Kappa Phi, dedicated to promoting the abilities of people with disabilities through service, education, and advocacy. What makes the Ability Experience unique is that it is an organization created, operated, and led entirely by members of Pi Kappa Phi, rather than an external charity the fraternity simply supports. This structure allows members to take direct ownership of the mission while developing leadership skills and a deep understanding of inclusive service.

Ability Camps focus on participation, empowerment, and personal connection. Ability Campers engage in recreational, social, and educational activities, such as games, sports, arts, outdoor activities, and group challenges alongside Pi Kappa Phi volunteers. What defines an Ability Camp is its intentional emphasis on abilities rather than disabilities. The goal is to foster confidence, independence, and friendship while breaking down social barriers and misconceptions surrounding disability.

Our brother and Chaplain, Jack Coleman, will be cycling in the Ability Experience's largest philanthropy event, the Journey of Hope. This is a cross-country 60-day bicycling marathon that begins on the Golden Gate Bridge in and ends in Washington, DC. To help Jack on this courageous endeavor, we are asking for donations to the Ability Experience, donated through Jack's fundraising link. Help Jack reach his goal of $8,000!
